Poon Hill Trek is best for those travelers who want to gain some experience of trekking and some major part of the city tour in Kathmandu. It is a small trekking circuit in the lower part of the Annapurna region which starts and ends at Kathmandu in 10 days including your arrival and departure days. The prime destination of this trail is an awesome viewpoint at Poon Hill from where one enjoys fascinating snow-capped peaks. The trekkers will have a deep impression of this region as the trail leads to rhododendron forest, streams, heterogeneous landscapes, and lush vegetation. The warm welcome of local people equally fascinates the traveler.

Ghorepani is a village in northern-central Nepal in the Myagdi district in the Dhaulagiri zone located at an elevation of approximately 2874 meters (9429 ft) within the Annapurna Conservation Area (ACA). It contains a number of guest houses and lodges which are utilized by trekkers and climbers while for lodging and meal while trekking towards the top of nearby Poon Hill (3210 meters/10531 feet) to view the sunrise and enchanting snow-capped peaks.

This trek is also known as Annapurna Sunrise Trek. The trek challenges your stamina at Ulleri where there are more than 3500 stone steps, one of the world’s largest stone steps. The trek starts from Nayapul which is within driving distance from Pokhara. On the way to Ulleri and Ghorepani, you witness the serene beauty of Mt. Annapurna (8091 m.) and Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167 m.). The ultimate destination, Poon Hill, gives eternal joy to trekkers as you are in unison with nature. The experience of trekking does not stop here. From Poon Hill, we further move to Ghandruk enjoying Gurung Museum in beautiful Gurung village. After walking through the rhododendron forest we make our way to Nayapul and then drive to Pokhara announcing the end of our short trek.
